Description

I've been working more with make up artists and started working on beauty and fashion themes - really enjoying it. It's a lot harder than lighting a nude model I've found. With nudes you pretty much only have to work with two main element in the lighting - the skin tone and hair of the model. Well except for nudes in landscape but I've done a lot of landscapes so I'm used to working with that now too.

But when you introduce clothes it's a whole new ball game, particularly when there is a lot of contrast in tone from the clothes to the model's complexion. Endlessly fascinating photography isn't it? Just when you feel like you've got the hang of it you start another genre and it's back on the learning curve :-)

2nd shoot with Nicola and here's some other work we've done together:

I agree about adding clothes. It makes the shoot much more complex. I tend to be a lot more comfortable with nudes.
